- Thank you to our volunteers yesterday who helped with the Mobile Escape Room Experience! We had an amazing time working through challenges as a group connected to our simple machine and light and shadow units in science.

We played a game of emotions charades/ AMA what I learned from this and why we played it.  Some of us auditioned for the opera parts today. Ask me how it went. AMA our new Novel "Holes".

Thursday, January 16th

We had an amazing presentation today by optometrist, Dr. Lori, who shared her knowledge of eye safety and vision.  Please ask your child about what we learned and how to keep our eyes safe.

- Opera auditions tomorrow (Ms. Smith has been talking about these since before Christmas)

- We finished our novel "Bridge to Terabithia" today. AMA some of the main events in the story and how it ended

- Book Orders coming home today; due January 21st.  Each student received a coupon worth up to $7 to purchase an item from book orders (expires in June)
- upcoming in-school field trip next week; our CVC will contact you about volunteering if you have current police clearance

Welcome back Hawkwood Families!  I hope you had a restful break.

Please remember to return ski forms (we are only missing 2 at this point). Please also return signed math tests from before the break (we are missing 6).

Please note the upcoming ski dates on your calendars at home (look on the right side of the blog under the important dates section. It won't be visible on the "mobile" format, it needs to be viewed on the "web" format). Students will need bagged lunches on ski days (we will not be purchasing food onsite) and will need to be at school by 9:00 am, as buses will be leaving promptly at 9:15am.  Volunteers are still needed. Please send a message if you are willing to join us on one or more of the days.
